Rotary Indexing and Continuous Seaming

Multi-Station Rotary Can Seaming Line

For continuous indexed seaming of metal cans and matching ends. Configure from real can bodies, ends and sealing compound, target seam standard, post-fill rim contamination or deformation, lid orientation, changeover, seam sampling, rejection, buffering and line interlocks. Screw capping, press capping and can seaming are different closure processes.

  • Continuous coordinated commissioning of conveying, lid placement, rotary indexing, and seaming cycle
  • Lid sorting and feeding, missing lid detection, abnormal rejection, and buffering are optional modules
  • Capacity, compatibility range, power, and utilities configured and confirmed per project

Information Recommended Before Quotation

  • Actual can body, can lid, seam dimensions, and sealing standards
  • Dust, spillage, foam, and container temperature at the can mouth after filling
  • Lid component incoming material, stacking orientation, lid placement method, and missing lid handling requirements
  • Target cycle time, conveying height, buffering, inspection, and upstream/downstream signal interfaces

Common Configuration Routes

Steps from Sample Confirmation to Delivery

The more complete the samples, packaging materials, and site information, the easier it is to determine the equipment route, changeover scope, and line boundaries.

01Inspect Can Lid Seam

Check can diameter, lid type, seam structure, sealing compound, and quality standards.

02Verify Lid Placement

Check lid incoming material, orientation, placement position, missing lid, and stability before entering the indexer.

03Commission Indexing and Seaming Together

Verify can feeding, lid placement, indexing positioning, seaming, discharge, and abnormal handling actions.

04Continuous Acceptance Per Standard

Check seam, sealing, indexing stability, cycle time, interlocking, and changeover.

Common Configuration Routes

Compare Compact Inline Can Seaming vs. Multi-Station Rotary Seaming Route

Screw capping uses threads and torque, press capping uses an interference fit, and can seaming forms a seam between the can flange and end; they are not one generic cap-closing route.

Manual Lid Placement Rotary SeamingManual or upstream station completes lid placement; equipment handles conveying, indexing positioning, and seaming.
Optional Lid Sorting and FeedingConfigure lid sorting, guiding, and placement according to lid characteristics, and continuously link with rotary indexing.
Filling and Can Seaming Full LineInline with upstream filling and downstream inspection or labeling; buffering and signal interfaces confirmed on site.

Rotary Indexing and Continuous Seaming

Screw capping uses threads and torque, press capping uses an interference fit, and can seaming forms a seam between the can flange and end; they are not one generic cap-closing route.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please provide can body, can lid, seaming standard, can mouth condition after filling, lid placement method, target cycle time, and upstream/downstream line connection information.

Are lid sorting and automatic lid feeding standard?

Not by default. It depends on lid diameter, edge, stacking, orientation, and supply stability; then decide on manual lid placement, existing lid supply interface, or optional lid sorting and feeding mechanism.

Can the same set of seaming rolls be compatible with multiple lid types?

Only possible if the seam structure and dimensions are identical; different can diameters or lid types usually require replacing seaming parts and rechecking the seam.
